row

Spencer Rowan is a huge suns fan and he wants everyone to know it. Instead of going inside the arena to watch the game Spencer chose to wait outside to show all of Phoenix his dedication to the team.

nba champions

this blog used to consist of a lot of posts with sports references. now it consists of nothing. so i decided it was time for the first sports post of 2010. the nba playoffs. espn.com put a playoff predictor on their website. it took me seriously over 100 times but, we did it! the phoenix suns, 2010 NBA champions!

for those who have google reader, i apologize for the fake out earlier

The other day I was drinking some water in the kitchen and stared out the window to see a bunny rabbit in the backyard. My roommate spencer had said that he had been seeing a baby cat around our house but he was wrong. His statement brought no emotion to me since cats just dont do it for me. Luckily for me and everyone living around 900e and 700n, the baby cat, kitten, etc. turned out to be a dark haired bunny rabbit with one ear that sticks straight up and the other falls down the side of his face.
I wanted a dog during my whole career as a young boy. I always had a problem sleeping the night before Christmas. Too much excitement for sleep. I used to just stare at my ceiling which hung a poster of charles barkley. For most of my formative years I shared a bunk bed. I slept on the top while my brother willis occupied the bottom of the bunk bed. It was great waking up every morning and 3 feet from your face having charles barkley dunking the sun into a hoop. On that particular Christmas I got out of bed and walked up and down the upstairs hallway of my house. During my walk I heard a sound that seemed to be an animal scratching at a cage coming from downstairs where the Christmas tree was. I was getting a dog. No doubt about it. A few hours later when the rest of my family woke up and my parents allowed us to open presents I ran to the tree looking for the cage. In the corner of the room there was something box shaped covered by a sheet. I ran over and ripped off the sheet to find a white and grey rabbit in a cage. I wasn't even mad. A dog was expected, the rabbit was a surprise. Shooter, the name of my rabbit, turned out to be a great pet for the next few years until he escaped and I never saw him again. When I wrote that last line I realized the word escaped made it sound like Shooter didnt enjoy his stay at the Nielson residence. Just for the record, that rabbit was fed very well and treated very kindly.
So when I saw this rabbit in our backyard I got a little excited and yelled to inform the others in the house. I had some carrots and Brian Boyer, roommate/renowned sports commentator, spared some lettuce to feed the beast. When we went out to give it to him he ran off and we figured that was the end of it. Just in case we left the food and went on with life. The next day the rabbit was back, chomping on the food we had set out. Turns out he lives in the barn in our backyard. So introducing Boys Ranch's newest resident, Otis.
We are all pretty excited about the addition and hope he sticks around through Spring and Summer. Here is Mikey when we broke the news that a rabbit lives in the barn

so happy. and why wouldn't he be? a bunny rabbit lives in his barn.
